One human is the key the catalyst who opens the link through a high vibration. The duration of the wave determines how long the Walker can remain tethered to our reality.
I encountered two of these Walkers last night. I stood at the forefront, the one anchoring the connection, while others lingered silently in the shadows behind me, observing. The Walker looks human, indistinguishable from anyone you might pass on the street, but they are unmistakably not of this time. I sensed their presence without turning around as if my awareness stretched beyond the physical. I saw them arrive, a vision beyond sight, as though I had eyes in the back of my head.
One vanished almost immediately. The connection with him slipped through my grasp, like sand scattering in the wind. But the other remained. There was something seamless about our vibration, a perfect alignment that held him here. He appeared as a man not white, not black, but an ethereal mix of the two. His dark hair was streaked with grey, and though his clothes were ordinary by today’s standards, his presence was anything but.
What set him apart were his eyes. They were lifeless, hollow, as though they had long forgotten what it meant to see. He walked with a peculiar speed, his movements stiff and mechanical, a rhythm too precise to be human. He covered 50 yards in moments, and then, just as suddenly as he had appeared, he was gone. The air seemed to fold around him, collapsing inward and swallowing him whole.
Behind me, the others stood motionless, a silent audience frozen like wooden soldiers. Their stillness was unnatural, their faces expressionless as they stared unblinkingly at the space where the Walker had vanished. I knew instinctively they were from my time a stark contrast to the intruding presence we had just witnessed.
I still don’t know what the Walkers truly are. Humans displaced from another era? Beings from beyond our world? Machines cloaked in flesh, sent here on some enigmatic mission? I didn’t name them. The name “Walkers” was given to me, along with cryptic instructions for how to summon this phenomenon again if I dare.
